I’ve taken the plunge and downloaded and installed the evaluation version of AdminStudio.

What convinced me to do this was of the good experience I’ve had with AdminStudio SMS Edition, and in particular the repackager component. But I now need to produce MSIs which have non-default permissions on the Installation Directory  and so I need the control the full package offers.

I’ll mouth off (¹) about the particular piece of software later  , but I’ve had enough of Orca, LockPermissions and CreateFolder to last me a lifetime – and it didn’t even get me anywhere  !

¹ Hmm. I originally wrote b-i-t-c-h (bitca for you Buffy fans) above, but the taste-and-decency filter on Community Server got in the way .
