Exchange address book oddities
We've had some random issues with our address book ever since the migration.
One that has been solved is the one where users get the message: 'Microsoft Exchange Server' reported error (0x8004010F), 'The operation failed. An object could not be found' when trying to send and receive.
Time after time I had rebuilt the address list on the server so I knew that wasn't the issue. But a posting on Experts Exchange had me check the Mailbox Store. In Exchange System Manager I went to to Administrative Groups -> -> Servers -> Paddington -> First Storage Group. I right clicked on 'Mailbox Store' and choose Properties. Where it said "Offline address list" the corresponding box was empty! That wasn't good, so I clicked on Browse and found the address list in Active Directory.
Problem almost solved. Any clients running in cached mode didn't pick up this change so I had to get the users to disable cached mode and then re-enable.
However, we still have one outstanding address list issue. And that's that one distribution group (Americas) isn't 'visible' when the client is in cached mode, but it is when cached mode is disabled.
Argh!
