Windows 2000 Professional And Windows 2000 Server

We're ceasing all support for all flavors of Windows 2000.  Given the security model of this operating system, it's just far too "open" to run unless you install a third-party firewall.  I've observed far too many Windows 2000 servers get compromised because of this, regardless of it's patch level and security settings, etc.  I've pulled my hair out more than once because of this.  Windows Server 2003 is far more secure, especially IIS 6.  Anyone else have any thoughts on this?
