Finding a monitors Serial number using...?

Anyways to the point. I am working in Asset Management with BMC Remedy software. A problem I am faced with is where to find the Monitor Serial number within the Registry or would there be some sort of script to write that could find and list for us? Currently I have a Discovery tool that gives me Monitor information as follows: Resolution, Pitch, Model, Manufacture and colors scale. I can not find anywhere in the Registry where to extract this information for the Monitor Serial number. I currently looking into WMI, Sysprep & Enum files in learning how to run a script to gather this information. I have also looked into SMS but can’t seem to find what I need to do in order to adjust the scan to find it. Have you any thoughts on this? So basically the question is I need to find how to get the Serial numbers for peripherals attached to the workstation. Do you know of any methods, scripts and in what language would be best for achieving this task?

Can you use VBscript ? If you answer is YES, please take a look at

    http://cwashington.netreach.net/depo/view.asp?Index=980&ScriptType=vbscript

or just google "EDID Monitor info vbscript"

I'm been using a small portion of this script to get my networked computers asset info from a domain logon script, and it works almost 95%. Some computers doesn't report its monitor serial number ( for example, multi-monitor RX workstations )

    Hope this helps.

    Vicente.
