I am experiencing difficulty copying files off a particular server, resulting in my laptop system (just WE, but that is big enough to deal a crippling blow to the OS) hanging while "waiting".

I suspect this is "by design" to prevent a real human user from habitually enforcing such a rule and thereby forever gaining any awareness of dangers may potentially result from such carelessness.

My company laptop has a very odd problem with Windows Explorer. When i right click to show the context menu, and it had not been shown for a long period previously, the menu renders and within a second will start to seize the CPU and work it to the max. Everything slows down including my USB mouse response.

Drag-and-Drop is such a core and base functionality in WE that I'd imagine quite a massive loss of capability if it can be disabled. The closest one can get is perhaps drag-drop for the Start menu.http://blogs.msdn.com/oldnewthing/archive/2005/03/25/402180.aspx
